Fairdale Post Office reopens after brown recluse spider scare

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- With the dangerous spider problem finally cleared out, the Fairdale Post Office "finally" reopened this morning.

It was closed for four months because it was infested with brown recluse spiders.

The brown recluse is known for a poisonous bite that can cause tissue damage.

When the post office closed in April, extermination was only supposed to take a few weeks.

But the spiders just kept coming back.

Officials say spraying and sealing finally did the trick, and they have not found any more spiders.
