LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Dare to Care Food Bank reports a record number of people in our community continue to struggle to put food on the table.

That's why organizers of this year's Hunger Walk gathered Tuesday to encourage people to sign up for the Hunger Walk scheduled for September 9.

A majority of the proceeds benefit the Dare to Care Food Bank to feed local families. Some proceeds are given to international hunger relief efforts.

The 5K walk and run gets started at Waterfront Park and takes participants on a course along the Ohio River.

Last year more than 2,000 people participated, raising more than $100,000.
