Future of former ISP post questioned

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A preservation group in southern Indiana is hoping to save a former state police post.

A state agency wants to tear down the Seymour state police building that opened in 1937.

It was closed in a 2010 post consolidation.

State officials say they've been unable to sell the property and the building is obsolete.

The Indiana Landmarks regional director believes the building is a significant resource that could still be used.

The Indiana Historic Preservation Review Board is scheduled to consider the demolition request Friday.
