LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A controversy is taking Jeffersonville High School's football coach out of the team's first home game.
Lonnie Oldham will not coach the team against Eastern High School Friday after he played two academically ineligible players and dressed another in a scrimmage last Friday, August 10th.
The school reported the violation to the Indiana High School Athletic Association as soon as it discovered the error.
The Association issued a warning against the program. The student athletes are suspended from games and declared ineligible until they get their grades up.
Erin Bojorquez, a spokesperson for the high school, says, "There's an academic advisor that runs grades each week and then turns those grades over to the head coach and to the athletic director so in his failing, he played 3 ineligible players."
Jeffersonville hosts Eastern Friday to open the season. Coach Oldham will be back at practice next week.
