Louisville celebrates Worldfest on Labor Day Weekend

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Louisville will celebrate Labor Day weekend with an international celebration.  The city will host WorldFest on the Belvedere with music, food, dance, and culture from around the world.

This will be the 10th anniversary of the event.  There's also a naturalization ceremony in which about 300 new citizens will be sworn in.

"After you've done the Worldfest," Mayor Fischer says, "you need to get up the next morning because on Labor Day thousands of people are hitting the streets and the river for our 16th Mayor's Healthy Hometown.  We'll be doing that on Monday morning."

There's a three mile paddling course, and cyclists can ride a 15-mile route from Waterfront Park to Shawnee Park.  Hikers can explore Waterfront Park and walk along the river.
