Hope Cards help domestic violence victims

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- There's new hope now for victims of domestic violence.  Indiana will give Hope Cards to victims who are under a civil protective order.

The card streamlines information contained within a victim's court order, so law enforcement can quickly identify and take action against violators.

Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller explains, "It really helps women who have for years been carrying around a nine page document.....haunts them."

Indiana received a $30,000 grant from Verizon for the program.  It's the third state to launch the Hope Card program.
