Indiana farmers hurt by drought can apply for help

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- All 92 Indiana counties have been declared agricultural disaster areas.

This comes during the state's worst drought in decades.

Farm operators in every Indiana county can now apply for low-interest loans to cover part of their drought losses.

The director of Indiana's Farm Service Agency says that unless Congress approves additional aid measures under a new farm bill, the low-interest loans will be the only drought assistance available to Hoosier farmers.
