LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A little girl with a serious disease is enjoying life a bit more thanks to the Make A Wish Foundation.
Maddie Garvue has a life-threatening condition that limits her movement and has rendered her both deaf and blind.
But today Maddie enjoyed a celebration party, as the Foundation granted the family's wish for a heated swimming pool, complete with a lift and ramp.
The pool allows Maddie to exercise and enjoy time with her family.
Maddie's mother, Debbie Garvue, says the family is "beyond grateful."
"I don't even know how to explain it. It has been the best summer I've ever had, and I know it's been the best summer that Maddie's ever had," Garvue said. "She has always seemed to be excluded because we have to leave her at home, or she can't do it because she's deaf and blind or she's in a wheelchair. Not this time. This time she's always with us."
