JCPS transportation hotline prepares parents for school

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky's largest school district is getting ready to roll out its buses.

Busing 70,000 students to 150 different schools is not an easy task. JCPS is doing everything it can to make the process run smoothly.

On Sunday -- two days before classes were set to begin -- JCPS opened up its phone lines for the transportation hotline.

With parents preparing to send their kids off to their first day of school, the hotline is a chance to get some last minute questions answered.

JCPS is trying to improve their busing system every year. The bus finder helps parents plan ahead. Simply plug in your address and school to find the nearest bus stop.

JCPS Superintendent Donna Hargens, says, "I think the key to the system is having correct information in the system, then making sure parents know where the bus stop is and what time the bus will arrive."

The transportation hotline will be accepting calls on Monday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The number is (502) 485-7433.
