LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Indiana State Fair officials are blaming the weather for keeping people away this year. The fair ended its 17-day run Sunday with 854,000 people attending.
Officials blame several hot days and some thunderstorms for keeping the number short of their goal of 875,000.
Last year's fair, which was marred by the stage collapse that killed seven people and injured dozens drew about 872,000 people, with one day canceled.
A fair spokesman says no matter how many great events the fair offers, the weather must cooperate.
