Historic Ind. state police post may not be torn down

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Officials say the first Indiana State Police post built outside Indianapolis might be saved from demolition.

The future of the Seymour state police post building has been uncertain since it was closed during a 2010 post consolidation.

The state Historic Preservation Review Board voted Friday to give permission for the demolition to the Indiana Finance Authority, which oversees state properties.

But an investor is interested in the 3-acre site if a communications tower is removed.
