Shanklin expected to appear before ethics commission

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin is set to appear before the city ethics commission today.

Shanklin is expected to ask the commission to drop the ethics complaint against her.

The complaint was filed several months ago following questions about her handling of public money.

City records show her family members benefited from a tax-funded upholstery program meant to help ex-convicts.

She also came under fire after it was revealed her grandson, Gary Bohler, was on the city's payroll with outstanding warrants.
