Phil Steele says Kentucky's schedule is the fourth toughest in the nation while U of L's is ranked 84th.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – More news for Joker Phillips to
inhale. I didn't say bad news. I simply said news.
Phil Steele, one of the gurus of college football, is very
impressed with Kentucky's football schedule this season.
In fact, Steele is so impressed that he ranks Kentucky's
schedule the fourth-most difficult schedule in the game. Steele ranked the
schedule by using pre-season rankings, game against possible national championship
contenders, games against bowl opponents and other factors.
That's correct – Number Four, behind Ole Miss, Missouri and
Notre Dame.
Of course, like most observers Steele gives the Southeastern
Conference all the love it could possibly need.
How do I know that?
Because Steele uses his criteria to show how seven of the
top eight and nine of the top 11 schedules in the nation are played by SEC
teams. Even if you love the SEC, that seems a tad self-indulgent.
The only other teams to crack the Top 11 are Notre Dame and
Michigan.
Louisville's schedule is ranked the 84th toughest
in the nation. Indiana's is ranked 49th.
