LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Gov. Steve Beshear has promoted longtime aide Larry Bond to be his chief of staff.
Bond, who had been serving since 2010 as a deputy chief of staff, previously was commissioner and deputy secretary of the Department of Public Protection.
He replaces Mike Haydon, who died earlier this month.
Beshear made the announcement Wednesday.
Before joining Beshear's administration, Bond served as chief administrative officer for Jefferson County government, chief deputy and chief operating officer for the Jefferson County circuit clerk's office and director of administration with the rank of colonel for the Jefferson County sheriff's office.
Bond is a native of Butler County who now lives in Louisville. His appointment was effective Wednesday.
