Crews from Kentucky helping restore power after Isaac hits Gulf Coast

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Hundreds of crews from Kentucky utilities are heading to the Gulf Coast.

LG& E and Kentucky Utilities sent more than 200 workers to help with the Isaac relief effort.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been left with no power after Isaac hit. It has since been downgraded to a tropical storm.

Meanwhile, several people had to be rescued from neighborhoods left under water.

Forecasters say Isaac is still spinning off life-threatening severe weather even as it slowly weakens in its trek north over Louisiana.
