Louisville is ranked 48th, UK 81st in one BCS computer formula.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB)
-- It's too early to check the college football rankings, but it's also
difficult to resist.
Only one of the six computer rankings used in the BCS
formula has already posted undated rankings after the opening weekend – the Massey
Ratings.
Louisville is ranked 48th after defeating
Kentucky, 32-14, on Sunday. The Wildcats checked in at 81.
Indiana defeated Indiana State, but the Hoosiers didn't get
much credit for it. They're No. 95. And Western Kentucky is ranked is ranked
103.
Here is the Top 10, according to Massey:
- Alabama
- LSU
- Oklahoma State
- Oklahoma
- Oregon
- Michigan State
- Arkansas
- South Carolina
- USC
10. Texas
A&M.
That's correct – half of the top
10 is filled by the SEC.
I expect Jeff Sagarin to post his
initial ratings after the Georgia Tech-Virginia Tech game is played tonight.
And look for the Billingsley ratings to be available Tuesday at 2 p.m.
*Early lines are available for
this weekend's games.
Kentucky is favored 7 against Kent
State.
Indiana is favored by 13 ½ at
UMass.
Western Kentucky is a 40-point
underdog at Alabama.
