CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (AP) -- A southern Indiana city celebrated Labor Day with its first town parade in nearly 30 years.

Clarksville last held a town parade in 1983 for the city's bicentennial.

More than 60 people took part in the parade through the city just across the Ohio River from Louisville.

Indiana State Superintendent Tony Bennett was the parade's grand marshal. Bennett is a Clarksville native.

The parade Monday was intended to showcase a redevelopment area.
