LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41)---Two men, hit by a car and left lying in the middle of a busy road, are pleading for the public's help to solve this case.
For Mike Shea and John Tolliver, getting around has become a lot more difficult following a crash in Hillview that left both men seriously injured in late July.
Tolliver was critically injured and was just released from the hospital last week.
They are now both out of work, and looking for answers.
"My medical bills alone are well into the 6 figures," says Mike Shea.
"Just got one the other day for $700,000. I don't know..my life's upside down right now," says John Tolliver.
The two men and a friend were on these motorcycles on Brooks Hill Road, half a mile from Mike Shea's home.
That's when authorities say a car turned in the intersection to get onto I-65 South. They say it failed to yield to oncoming vehicles, including the three motorcycles.
"By the time we seen him, we locked our brakes up and it was over," says Mike Shea.
Tolliver was listed in critical condition at University Hospital.
Both men suffered serious head injuries, as well as fractured and broken bones throughout their bodies.
Police say Wendy Dishman of Clarksville, Indiana stayed with her car, and claimed to be the driver.
"After interrogating her we did discover that there was a male subject driving the car and he fled on foot," says Roy Raines with the Hillview Police Department.
Hillview Police still have not determined who the man is and don't believe Dishman gave them correct information.
She was charged with hindering prosecution or apprehension and was released from jail 8 days later.
Her case is still playing out in court. She was not home when we stopped by.
Meanwhile, these crash victims have their own message for whoever the driver may be.
"How could you step over two dead-looking bodies. They literally stepped over our bodies to run," says Mike Shea.
They're hoping someone will step up with information to help solve this case.
"Turn it in," says John Tolliver.
Police believe the driver could be in Indiana and say Wendy Dishman is scheduled to appear back in court next month.
The crash victims say they are frustrated nearby surveillance video wasn't collected to identify the driver, and are offering their own reward for information.
