Western Kentucky will be a 39-point underdog at top-ranked Alabama Saturday.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – I'm having a difficult time reading Western Kentucky football coach Willie Taggart as he prepares the Hilltoppers for their visit to Tuscaloosa Saturday.
One minute Taggart says something about top-ranked Alabama being able to defeat five or six NFL teams. He called Bama the 33rd team in the NFL. Eventually, even Nick Saban has become perturbed with all the love Alabama has received for defeating Michigan.
Sure. The Crimson Tide might be able to beat the winless 1976 Tampa Bay Bucs – now most of them are pushing 60 and beyond.
The next minute Taggart says that the 40-point spread between the teams is a "bunch of baloney." Maybe he knew the number would shrink to 39.
Instead of asking if that means Taggart believes WKU could defeat one or two NFL teams, I'll ask this:
Have you see AccuScore.com's take on the game?
The computer projection gives the Hilltoppers an 0.8 percent chance of winning.
That's not 8 percent. That's less than 1 percent.
