South 18th St. fire damages two homes

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- More than two dozen firefighters respond to a house fire on South 18th Street.

Officials say they got reports that people were trapped in the home, but when they arrived, everyone had made it out safely.

The fire chief says he believes four or five people lived in the home. There were no reported injuries.

Louisville assistant fire chief Glen Nally says the fire crews cut holes in the roof and opened up the windows to allow the smoke to escape more quickly.

The house next door was inspected for fire, but it only had heat damage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
