One year since Sherman Minton Bridge closure

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One year ago today, a structural crack forced the closing of the Sherman Minton Bridge.

For five months, drivers were dealing with a traffic nightmare.

The Sherman Minton was temporarily shut down after inspectors found a crack in the bridge's structural steel.

It caused detours for drivers, and only gave them the option of using two bridges, making the commute to and from work more difficult.

Louisville-based Hall Contracting made the repairs to fix the bridge.
