LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville metro police officer is on paid administrative leave after his arrest for domestic violence.

Police arrested 36-year-old Sgt. Raymond Kiefer of the third division at about 1:45 p.m. Sept. 10.

He was booked at Metro Corrections on a charge of fourth degree assault involving domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

His arrest citation alleges that Kiefer put his hands on his ex-wife's throat, picked her up and slammed her to the ground during an argument Monday morning.

The police department has no further comment.
