LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police were investigating two separate bus accidents at the end of the school day Monday, one in Louisville and one in Bullitt County.
The first crash happened on West Brooks Road, near Blue Lick Road, at about 3:30 p.m. Monday.
A Bullitt County Schools spokesman says a Bernheim Middle School student was sent to the hospital with minor injuries after Bullitt County bus 0679 was involved in a crash with five other vehicles. The driver of the bus also went to the hospital with minor injuries.
Five people from the other vehicles were also hurt. Hillview police are investigating.
The second crash involved a JCPS bus and happened eastbound on the Watterson Expressway at around 4:00 p.m. Monday. The crash sent nine children to Kosair with minor injuries.
Crews at the scene say cars were braking to avoid an object in the road. A JCPS spokesman said the bus rear-ended a vehicle.
Officials say King and Young elementary school students were riding aboard the bus, number 9954.
