Indiana Gov. Daniels accused of violating state ethics codes

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Did Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels violate state ethics codes when talking about his new job?

State Representative Charlie Brown, a Democrat, says he did when he used a state government email list to comment on $380,000 in renovations to the Purdue President's office.

Brown is also asking Inspector General David Thomas to reconsider his opinion that would allow Daniels to lobby state lawmakers as soon as he takes over at Purdue.  Normally, Daniels would have to take a year off.

Daniels's spokeswoman calls the request partisan nonsense.
