Indiana State Police to collect expired, unwanted prescription drugs

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Indiana State Police will collect expired or unwanted prescription drugs later this month.  Hoosiers wanting to get rid of their medicine can turn them in anonymously at most state police posts and other sites September 29th.

Only pills and liquid drugs will be accepted.

The drive is part of a nationwide effort by the Drug Enforcement Administration.  In April, Indiana residents turned in more than 1500 pounds of unwanted medicines.
