LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A New Albany man has been arrested in connection with a Sept. 11 shooting in near a local food mart.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Leroy Devin Brown is accused of shooting a man in his left cheek shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday, near the parking lot of Zack's Food Mart on Bono Road, near Clay Street, in New Albany, Ind.
Police say the victim had a hole in his cheek, and pointed to a bullet fragment and a tooth on the ground and told the officer, "I spit that out."
The victim was taken to Floyd Memorial Emergency Room where he recounted what allegedly happened. Police say he told them that 26-year-old Brown approached him as he was walking down Bono Road and said, "I heard you got a problem with me?"
That's when, police say, Brown shot him.
The victim ran into Zack's Food Mart and told them he had been shot.
Police say it was a small-caliber bullet that entered the left cheek and dislodged a tooth, but did no further damage.
Brown was arrested Thursday and charged with attempted murder.
