National Guard member faces manslaughter charge after crash

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Kentucky National Guard member is facing manslaughter charges after he crashed a car killing two fellow guard members.

The crash happened in North Dakota where the guardsmen were undergoing military training at Camp Grafton near Devil's Lake.

Prosecutors say 23-year-old Christopher Brandt was driving recklessly at a high speed when he struck a tree and rolled over late Wednesday.

31-year old Ronald Forsyth and 23-year old Jason Brunette were killed. Brandy and another guard member was injured.

Brandt faces two counts of manslaughter and one count of reckless endangerment.
