LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One person is dead and another seriously injured after a crash late Saturday evening.

Deputy Coroner Larry Carroll says 34-year-old Edward Fey Jr. died at the scene of the accident.

Police say they responded to a call about the crash just after 11:00 Saturday night.

They say the driver of a Ford Focus was heading southbound on Cane Run Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Terry Lane.

The vehicle collided with a moped that was heading northbound on Cane Run Road.

Two people were on the moped.

Police say the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The female was transported to University Hospital.

LMPD spokesperson Alicia Smiley says that the driver and passenger on the moped were not wearing helmets.

Police say the driver of the Ford Focus was okay.

The intersection was shut down for several hours after the crash.

Police do not suspect alcohol at this time, but say this is an ongoing investigation.
