BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) -- Indiana State Excise Police officers have arrested 188 people on 231 charges over three days in Bloomington.
Cpl. Travis Thickstun says 120 of the arrests occurred during and after the Indiana University football game against Ball State on Saturday night. He says officers arrested 106 minors for illegal consumption or possession of alcohol. Seven minors also were charged public intoxication.
Thickstun says the 110 arrested during the game is the largest number of arrests during tailgating at any Indiana college or university. He says officers arrested 10 more people including eight minors after the game.
Officers also arrested 18 people on Thursday and 50 on Friday.
The Bloomington patrols were part of a program targeting underage drinking at IU, Purdue, Notre Dame, Ball State, Indiana and Butler.
