FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Former University of Kentucky basketball star Tayshaun Prince is honored in the first of a wine bottle series that will benefit the Kentucky Agriculture Department's child nutrition program.
Elk Creek Vineyards' True Blue Legends series will be launched on Friday at the Elk Creek store in Lexington's Fayette Mall. Prince and Agriculture Commissioner James Comer will attend.
Elk Creek of Owenton is Kentucky's largest winery. It plans to release 21,000 limited-edition bottles of Kentucky Blue Riesling for $21 a bottle in honor of Prince's uniform number. The Agriculture Department says the bottles will feature graphics bearing Prince's likeness and signature.
The Fayette Mall launch and bottle signing will take place from 6-8 p.m. EDT, Friday Sept. 21. Prince also is scheduled to appear for bottle signing events at the Elk Creek store at the Mall St. Matthews in Louisville on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 1-3 p.m. and the Elk Creek store at Crestview Hills Town Centre in Florence on Sunday, Sept. 23, from 1-3 p.m. Prince will be on hand for the festivities and signing autographs.
Elk Creek Vineyards will be releasing the series on September 21, 22 and 23 with a guest appearance from Tayshaun Prince and bottle signing.
