LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say two men selling counterfeit CDs from the trunk of their car were implicated accidentally -- by a child.
It happened Friday afternoon, shortly after 4:00, at the corner of 26th St. and W. Broadway.
Police say they received reports that 49-year-old Eric W. Stratton and 30-year-old Cliff H. Wright were there selling CDs from the trunk of a black sedan. When officers arrived, they allegedly found the pair standing by the trunk with a woman and, "hundreds of CDs in sight."
Police say they appeared to be discussing a business transaction with the woman.
When police began questioning Wright and Stratton, Wright allegedly told them he was a DJ and the CDs were for work.
Stratton told police he was there to get his child's hair cut, and called his child over.
While they were talking, the child allegedly told police, "He sells CDs!"
Police say they found five black cases full of CDs, many of which were labeled with duplicate names of videos and songs. Officers also allegedly found two binders with pricing information and business cards that read, "Music and Movies Delivery."
Both men were arrested and charged with engaging in prohibited commerce of counterfeit goods or services.
