LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer has met once again with community leaders to discuss the possibility of bringing an NBA team to Louisville.
"I think part of my job," the mayor says, "is to pursue things that could help the city grow and create opportunities. Professional sports is one of those activities."
Mayor Fischer says he doesn't want to promise people that that movement on an NBA team could happen overnight or even tomorrow.
But he says they are looking at whether the community would be interested in attracting a professional team. Also at issue -- whether the city has everything a NBA team would need, such as a place to play.
He says a lot of research must be done before going after such an endeavour, but the work must start now.
