Troy Riggs to be named public safety director in Indianapolis

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Former Louisville assistant police chief Troy Riggs will be named the public safety director for Indianapolis tomorrow.

He'll oversee the police department and other agencies.

Sources in Corpus Christi, Texas say Riggs has accepted the Indy job.

Riggs moved to Texas in 2009, first as the Corpus Christi police chief.

He then became assistant city manager last November.

Troy Riggs was a top aide to former Louisville metro police chief Robert White during his 20 years in Louisville and Jefferson County.
