LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The tenth Goodwill Store in Metro Louisville opened its doors Wednesday.
The discount store at Hurstbourne Parkway and Shelbyville Road makes dropping off used items easy with a donation drive-thru. Inside the retail store, you can find everything from used clothing to housewares.
90 cents of every dollar coming in to local Goodwill stores is funneled into job training programs. Goodwill V.P. Marsha Berry explains, "We try to make it simple for you to see a Goodwill to donate your items, and the beauty of all this is not only does it fund our programs for people to help maintain and find employment, but it stays in this community, it stays in our stores."
20 new jobs were created with the opening of the new location.
