Car hits gas pump near downtown Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police are investigating after a car crashed into a gas pump near downtown Louisville early Thursday.

It happened about 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 20 at the BP station at Broadway and Hancock. Witnesses told police the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it tried to cut through the parking lot.

The clipped one gas pump and smashed into another. Crews had to deal with a small fuel spill at the scene.

No word yet on whether the driver was injured or faces charges.
