LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say one Louisville man figured somebody had to win -- it might as well be him.

The only problem was, he didn't win, but he allegedly took the money anyway.

According to an arrest report, employees at the Kroger on Dixie Hwy., near Bethany Lane, began to notice discrepancies between financial statements and the lottery fund. Police say the discrepancies were fixed manually at first, but they soon decided an investigation was in order.

Police say they eventually discovered that 21-year-old Brandon Blincoe -- a Kroger employee -- had been accessing the computer and using it to dispense lottery payouts to himself.

He admitted to doing this for the previous 30 days, and to paying himself a total of $7,500.

He was arrested on Thursday afternoon and charged with theft by deception.
