"Patriot Ride" benefits Boy Scouts of America

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It was a perfect day to be outdoors, and that's where many people were for WDRB's Thunder into Louisville "Patriot Ride".

Hundreds of motorcyclists took part in the ride today. During the poker run, motorcyclists make stops at participating businesses to pick up playing cards.

At the end of the run, the person with the best hand wins.

But, it's not just about the ride.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Boy Scouts of America.

"We've got about 35,000 youth that benefit from the proceeds from this run and all the money that's raised here today for the participants that come out goes to help support those 35,000 youth that we serve," says Stephen Whitehead, of the Boy Scouts of America.

This is the 10th year for this event.
