LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – We have reached the one-third mark
of the 2012 college football season, but the number of unbeaten FBS teams has
been reduced to considerably less than one third.
It's a list of 26 teams – and half are from two conferences,
the Big 12 (7) and the SEC (6). That
makes it a perfect time to look at the 26 teams and guess when each will take
its first defeat.
There's a solid chance, by my calculations, that seven
unbeatens will fall this weekend. And my scenario, Louisville has a reasonable
chance to take advantage of its user-friendly schedule and become the last
unbeaten.
(Disclaimer: Unless, of course, the Cards lose earlier.)
We are guaranteed to lose at least two unbeatens this
weekend. Texas Tech (3-0) visits Iowa State (3-0) and Baylor (3-0) visits West
Virginia (3-0).
Let's get to the week-by-week list of when each unbeaten has
