LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Floyd County police say one woman has died and another person was seriously hurt after a minivan smashed into a tree near Greenville  -- and alcohol was a factor.

Police say the van driver, 27-year-old Ashley Dejohnette of Louisville died Wednesday afternoon at University Hospital in Louisville.

A Floyd County detective tells WDRB News Dejohnette was the van's driver and tested at .25 blood alcohol level.  That's more than three times the legal limit for intoxication in Indiana.

The passenger had head injuries and was taken to University Hospital by helicopter.  The crash occurred about 10 a.m. near U.S. 150 and State Road 335.
