LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A new riverboat arrived in Louisville Thursday afternoon. The Queen of the Mississippi stopped at the waterfront as it traveled from Saint Louis to Cincinnati.
It's the newest paddlewheeler to grace the Mississippi River, and has the largest and most spacious staterooms. The city rolled out the red carpet for its inaugural visit to the city, with Mayor Greg Fischer saying, "We are happy here to proclaim this to the Queen of the Mississippi and all of its passengers, this is your day in Louisville."
Besides a plaque, the Belle of Louisville gave the Queen of the Mississippi's captain a Louisville Slugger bat.
