LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police swarm several neighborhoods in Carroll County, checking to see if sex offenders are living where they say they are.
Federal, state, and local law enforcement came together in Carroll County to check on 45 sex offenders.
This is the first compliance check they've done in the area.
Complaints about sex offenders sparked the search.
Carroll County Sheriff Jamie Kinman says, "The main issue we have is people calling and being concerned with sex offenders mainly living together or being close to a school."
Police also checked computers, making sure people were not in violation of any other laws.
Kinman says, "We're gonna check and make sure they do not have a facebook account as sex offenders do not have access to facebook now."
This was a joint effort between Carroll County Sheriff's Department, Carrollton Police, Kentucky State Police, and U.S. Marshals.
