COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- A police officer in northern Kentucky has been injured in a shooting and a manhunt is under way for the suspect.

Covington Police Lt. Brian Vallenti said the officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to fully recover.

The shooting happened Friday morning at the City Heights housing project in Covington. Vallenti said officers had been called to the scene to investigate a report of a robbery.

Vallenti said police are searching for 26-year-old Pharo Wilson in relation to the shooting.

The Kentucky Enquirer reports officers were using police dogs to search a wooded area of the city.
