Rand Paul calls upcoming debates "privilege" for Ky.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky says there's a reason presidential candidates don't spend much time campaigning in Kentucky.

"Kentucky is important, but people have already concluded that Governor Romney's gonna win Kentucky," says Paul. "That's why nobody campaigns here. Ohio is closer -- more evenly split -- in presidential politics, and that's why all the money and time will be spent in Ohio."

Senator Paul was in Louisville today to sign copies of his new book.

It deals with what he calls "overzealous" government regulations that are affecting Americans' lives.

But Paul commented on the presidential election -- saying he doesn't think President Obama will do well in Kentucky because he's upset big coal companies.

He also calls the upcoming vice presidential debate at Centre College a big privilege for Kentucky.
