LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB)---It's the kiss with Carrie Underwood that went viral, and the phrase that landed Chase Kurnick of Louisville in the spotlight.

"How we gonna do this?" Carrie Underwood asked him on stage.

"Lip to lip," Kurnick replied.

More than a week after the kiss was caught on camera at Underwood's Louisville concert, Chase is returning home to Louisville after making national appearances in New York.

It was his sign and his kissing experience that landed him on the Today Show, Inside Edition, and on air with Ryan Seacrest.

"It's amazing. It's a dream come true," says Chase Kurnick.

Chase says since he didn't have backstage passes, the sign was his attempt to meet Underwood.

"She had cherry lip balm on," he says.

He never expected the kiss to happen.

"I thought she was gonna give me a kiss on the cheek, and then when she asked me I said, okay I'm gonna go for it and said 'lip to lip'," says Chase Kurnick.

The phrase is now on shirts that his dad helped make, that also appeared on national tv.

Chase, a student at Christian Academy of Louisville, says his friends won't be letting him live is down anytime soon.

"It's a good lesson in determination and certainly don't be surprised what social media can do by any means," says John Kurnick, Chase's dad.

"Do you have anybody else you want to try to get a kiss from when you hold up a sign at a concert," we asked Chase.

"Selena Gomez," he replied.

Chase turned 13 over the weekend and the family was able to check out all the local sites in New York while they were there for interviews.

Chase's family says it may be hard for him to top his first kiss.
