LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- WDRB News is learning new information about an Oldham County Police officer accused of abusing his position and sending sexually charged text messages to a minor.
On Friday, Officer Shane Mosley was arrested and charged with Unlawful Use of Electronic Means to Induce a Minor to Engage in Sexual or other Prohibited Activity, Official Misconduct, and Unlawful Transaction with a Minor.

As a result of the charges, Mosley resigned his position.
On Monday, WDRB News obtained the criminal complaint, which outlines the case against the defendant (i.e, Mosley), explaining the crime he allegedly committed.
"On or about Sept. 25, 2012, at 8:49 p.m., this defendant initiated a traffic stop, upon which he smelled marijuana in the automobile," the complaint states. "The marijuana was located in the center console of the vehicle, which was occupied by an adult male and a minor female under the age of 18."
Authorities say Mosley did not know the female.
"This defendant issued a criminal citation to the adult male for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, but he did not charge the minor female with a criminal offense, although he was aware she was also in control of the contraband," the citation states.
The next morning, police say Mosley began sending the juvenile text messages throughout the day, while she was in school.
"In these messages, this defendant stated he would not tell her family of the traffic stop if she would prove herself to him and stay away from drugs," the complaint states. "He also stated his desire to spend more time with her as a friend, and that she needed to keep in touch with him to earn his trust."
The following day, Mosley's text messages allegedly become more explicit, "including specific sexual references."
He also allegedly sent her an image of a beer can and asked her what alcohol she preferred to drink.
At one point during the day, Mosley allegedly had a sexually charged phone conversation with the girl, "wherein he arranged to have sexual intercourse with her later in the week, at times including during school hours or late at night."
He also allegedly asked her to send him a pornographic picture over his phone.
Authorities couldn't tell us the teenager's age, but do say she's in her upper teens.
Officer Mosley has been with the department for four years and is expected to appear in court this week.
