LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The owner of Conrad Eye Centers is paying over $157,000 to settle a case in which federal authorities say he submitted false Medicare and Medicaid claims.
Timmie J. Conrad, M.D. was accused of billing Medicare and Medicaid for consultations and testing that were never performed on patients. The U.S. Attorney's Office for Kentucky's Western District says the over-billing happened between April 1, 2006 and March 31, 2010, and that it happened at the Conrad Eye Centers in both Louisville and New Albany, Indiana.
A news release says the agreement "is neither an admission of liability by Conrad nor a concession by the United States that its claims are not well founded."
