LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The Ford Motor company is boasting about its sales of the Louisville-made Escape. It sold 23,148 Escapes in September, the best sales for that month ever, and amounting to a 14 percent increase over last year.
The company says it is set to exceed last year's Escape sales of 254,293 vehicles for all of 2011. The Escape is built at Ford's Louisville Assembly Plant.
Ford says sales of other SUVs, small cars, and F-series trucks are also up.
Ken Czubay, Ford vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service, said in a news release, "Fuel economy remains one of the most important features customers want most today, and Ford is answering the call with five vehicles that deliver 40 mpg or better – with another three on the way by year-end."
