Popcorn recalled because of possible listeria contamination

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Popcorn sold at several area stores is being recalled, because of possible listeria contamination.

The company Dale and Thomas is recalling bags of its flavored, ready-to-eat popcorn. It's recalling Indiana products, sold at stores like Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco, Meijer, Walgreen's and Whole Foods.

The recalled popcorn bags were sold after August 8th, and have "best by" dates of February 4th, 2013 to March 12th, 2013.

Listeria can cause a high fever, severe headaches, nausea, and abdominal pain.
