LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- An 8th grade class at Parkview Middle School in Jeffersonville received a first-hand account of World War II on Wednesday from veteran Bob Oaks.

The 90-year-old talked to students about his time flying a B-17 bomber and what it was like being a prisoner of war:  "I flew 31.5 missions, shot down, bombing.  And anti-aircraft is what shot us down and we were prisoners of war for six and a half months.

Oaks says for 20 years, he'd go with three other World War Two veterans to talk to classes.  Now he is the only left.
