LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Clarksville's George Rogers Clark Elementary School is being sold, a move Superintendent Kimberly Knott acknowledges brings "mixed emotions."
Safe Harbour Community Church has agreed to buy the school for $189,900. "This organization will bring a philanthropic heart to our community and our citizens, and I believe this offer is truly a win-win for all," Supt. Knott said in a news release.
The Clarksville Community Board of School Trustees agree to the sale during a meeting Tuesday. The building was closed in 2010 due to budget problems.
The move was expected to save almost $1 million from the budget.
